Two streams of light, one blue and one amber, meeting at a single point and passing through a narrow gate as one line, over soft stepped shapes on a dark background.

A trading bot sounds complicated. It is not. It is software that watches the market and places orders in your exchange account when certain conditions are met. Here is how Atheron Trading does it, from the first connection to the last line of the trade explanation. No prior experience needed.

Step 1: Your money stays where it is

You already have, or will open, an account at a crypto exchange. That is where your money sits. We never move it to us. Atheron Trading is non-custodial: we do not hold customer funds at any point.

To act in your account, the bot needs an API key. Think of it as a limited pass you create at your exchange. The key we ask for can place and cancel trades. It cannot withdraw. Even if someone got hold of it, they could not send your funds anywhere. You can revoke the key at your exchange at any time.

Step 2: You set the rules

Before the bot does anything, you tell it the limits.

  • A budget. How much of your account the bot may use.
  • A stop-loss. The point at which an open position is closed to cap a loss.
  • An allowed list. Which coins the bot may trade.

These rules are yours, and they are checked before every single trade. The bot does not get to stretch them.

Step 3: Two AIs read the market

This is the part that does the thinking. Atheron Trading runs two separate AIs, each with its own job.

The first reads charts. It looks at price and volume to judge what the market is doing right now.

The second reads words. It scans news and social posts to judge sentiment, the mood around each coin.

A trade only goes ahead when both agree. If the chart looks good but the news is bad, nothing happens. If the news is glowing but the price action says otherwise, nothing happens. Two independent reads, one decision.

Step 4: Your rules get the last word

Say both AIs agree a trade makes sense. The bot still has to pass your checks. Is that coin on your allowed list? Is there budget left? Where will the stop-loss sit? If any answer is wrong, the trade is not placed.

Step 5: The trade is placed and explained

When everything lines up, the bot sends the order to your exchange through the API key. The trade happens in your account, under your name, visible in your exchange like any trade you placed by hand.

Then comes the part many bots skip. Every trade is explained. You see what the chart AI saw, what the sentiment AI saw, and how your rules applied. You should never have to wonder why the bot did something.

Start with paper money

You do not have to risk real money to learn this. Paper trading lets the bot run with pretend money at real market prices. You see real decisions and real explanations with no money on the line. Until launch, the bot trades with paper money only.

What the bot does not do

Honest limits, stated plainly:

  • It does not hold your funds or withdraw them.
  • It does not predict prices.
  • It does not override your budget, stop-loss or coin list.
  • It does not trade on one signal alone.

Recap

  1. You create an API key that can trade but not withdraw.
  2. You set a budget, a stop-loss and the coins it may trade.
  3. Two AIs read charts and sentiment. Both must agree.
  4. Your rules are checked.
  5. The trade is placed in your account and explained.
